FAQ answers
Getting started
No. You can type the barcode into the form, use a USB scanner that types into the field, or use the camera scanner where it is supported by your browser.
Your basket shows the itemised provisional offer and the minimum needed to submit. The route available to you is determined by your account type and address before you confirm the trade.
Quotes, items and condition
The current acceptance catalogue supports books, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, video games and board games when the barcode and item pass the relevant checks. See What We Buy for the category overview.
A quote is provisional. We inspect the item identity, completeness and condition after it arrives, or as part of a qualifying local charity-shop collection. The final accepted total reflects that inspection.
The item may be accepted, adjusted or rejected after inspection. Rejected items are not paid. Eligible rejected items can be requested back within the applicable return window; any return postage is disclosed before the request is completed.
Yes. The scanner and basket flow can ask you to confirm a duplicate so that multiple copies can be included when the catalogue and inspection checks allow it.
Shipping and payment
For an eligible shipped-in route, the checkout shows the available free shipping option before you confirm. Qualifying charity-shop accounts may be offered local collection instead. Return postage for eligible rejected items is a separate, disclosed cost.
Shipped-in trades and individual sellers receive a bank transfer within 3 days after the shipment arrives and is inspected. Qualifying local charity-shop collections are paid by card at collection.
A trade can be submitted when it reaches either 10 items or £5.00 in provisional value. The basket displays both measures and unlocks checkout when either one is met.
Charity shops and support
Yes, where the account is a qualifying charity or organisation and the shop address is within 20 miles of TN9 1SU. The account type and saved postcode determine which route is offered.
Prepare and scan the stock, review the provisional trade, then follow the collection instructions shown for your account. We carry out the relevant checks as part of collection and qualifying local charity shops are paid by card at collection.
